The Renewal started in the early 70's in Sapele, Warri, Kwale, Obiaruku, and later Ughelli with the help of Benin Brethren and Bro. Paul Aine, who was in charge of the NSC before Rev Fr. Jude Mbukama took charge of the Centre. The Diocese attended the 1st National Conference in Benin City in 1980 after which other groups' came up; Ovu, Abbi,  Ashaka, Abraka etc and were under Bendel Region. Warri hosted the 1st Regional Conference in 1983 at Urhobo College, Effurun. With the coming up of more Prayer Groups, Warri Diocese including the present Bomadi was called Bendel Region South Zone and Bro. Kizito was elected as the Chairman and Bro. Charles Onuoha as the Vice Chairman. When Bro. Kizito Okpere was transferred, the mantle of the leadership fell on Bro. C. Onuoha and Bro. S. Uviovo of blessed memory was made the Vice Chairman. After the expiration of their tenure and at the same time Warri Diocese was given to the Diocese from Bendel Region South Zone, Bro. C Onuoha and Bro. P Usiobafor were elected Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.  During this period Bro. C Onuoha was elected as Vice Chairman of Old Lagos Province (now three provinces; Lagos/Ibadan/Benin Provinces). The election was held at St Paul's Catholic Church Benin City, under the supervision of Rev. Fr. A. Obozuwa of blessed memory.  The following were past Chairmen of Warri Diocese; Bro. P. Usiobafor,  Bro. A. Olise,  Bro. P. Okoduwa of blessed memory, Bro. Chika Jude,  Bro. Oghale Elebe  and Bro. A Olise was a Provincial Chairman and Secretary of NST during his tenure. 

Warri Diocese the hosted;

1. Old Lagos Provincial Conference at Ozoro in 1992.

2. Benin Provincial Conference at Sapele in 2002 and

3. Benin Provincial Conference in Ubulu-uku in 2017, the Conference would had been conducted in CCRN Warri Diocese land in Aghalokpe but was move to NSC.

The Diocese organized a Jubilee Conference in 2000  and  Diocesan conferences has been held at Obiaruku, Sapele, Ozoro, Ashaka, Ughelli, Ovu, Warri etc.
