The people of Aba and its environ were thrilled seeing crowd trouping in and out of the Enyinba International Sport Stadium, Aba, in order to experience the Lord afresh and to be filled with all goodness that flows from God’s presence. It’s quite an undisputable fact that the 5th Conference of the Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri was a success. Entering the venue of the conference, one could see the members of the Renewal dancing, singing, clapping hands, jumping up with joy as they participate in various activities scheduled for the 4 days conference. Apart from the celebration of the Eucharist and various teachings, the conference featured Benediction, Praise and Worship, and many people testified to the fact that they experienced inner and physical healing. It’s really an amazing experience as spirit-filled charismatic priests and leaders ministers at the conference, present in attendance were the National Chairman, Bro. (Dr.) Isaac Ukpokolo, National Co-coordinator, Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Patrick, Owerri Provincial Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Mathias Opara, Owerri Provincial Chairman, Sr. (Dr.) Bennadette Ubbaonu, Chaplains and Diocesan executives from Owerri Archdiocese, Aba Diocese, Umuahia Diocese, Okigwe Diocese, Ahiara Diocese, and Orlu Diocese. The present of past and active executives of the Provincial and Diocesan service teams were also recognized. Reflecting on the theme of the conference, “Be Still and Wait on the Lord”, The Owerri Provincial Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Mattias Opara prayed that for the lightening of heart of members of the renewal so as to overcome all traces of darkness being expressed in dishonesty, division, disobedience, hatred, greed, gullibility, pettiness, quarrels and all sort of sinful practices. On her own part, The Provincial Chairman of Owerri Ecclesiatical Province, Sr. (Dr.) Bennadette Ubbaonu, opined that waiting upon the Lord implies shunning hyprocisy in all its ramifications and readiness to be truly transformed. For Bro. (Dr.) Isaac Ukpokolo, The National Chairman of CCRN, it’s not just about waiting upon the Lord, but waiting upon the Lord in His Word, bearing fruits of the Holy Spirit and being disposed to interior conversion. To conclude, one would say that the fruit of this conference will be evident in the life of Charismatic Renewal in Owerri Province as the Scripture testifies to the fact that those who wait upon the Lord shall never be disappointed.
