	HISTORY Owerri Province is one of the six ecclesiastical Provinces in Nigeria created by his Holiness Pope John II. This creation was seen by many as a great achievement aimed at bringing the church administration nearer to the people. Owerri ecclesiastical province from inception has been holding conferences every three years 1999 at Owerri, 2002 at Abho Mbaise and 2005 at Okigwe. These conferences have been bearing fruits in 30 fold, 60 fold and even 100 fold. We hold our Province Meetings on Quarterly basis and it rotates among the six dioceses. Each of the dioceses has their chaplain and the Provincial Episcopal Conference will soon approve a Chaplain for the Provincial CCRN.
